Indeed you do, now give me your eyes as a sacrifice- {/j, unless you just wanna give up your eyes like that I can't stop you}
So a recent incident about Octopath 1 being taken down from the Switch eShop caught my attention last night... you can't buy the game from there for the time being but it's only for a little while apparently... here's the extremely unhelpful support article we found that doesn't even bother answering its own question! So, yeah, no idea why it's down. And that got me thinking...
I've owned the game physically for a few years now, and... why do I just feel comfier owning it that way? I mean it's no secret that digital stores and streaming services can just lock users out of specific content, or take stuff down or whatever... do I just feel better knowing I'll always have it available?
But then I have, say, my VA-11 Hall-A CDs. It's split up into three discs and computers don't really have built-in disc readers anymore (much to my chagrin...) so I gotta plug in my disc reader peripheral and... why go through all that trouble when it's way quicker and more convenient to just listen to it on YouTube or Spotify or something? It's more than just supporting the artist... I honestly dunno how to explain it yet, it just feels nice to have. And I do use them, it's not like I get them just to look nice on my shelf (although they do look nice on my shelf.) Maybe I'm just sad about CDs sorta being phased out...
Hope you weren't expecting an actual answer since I'm still tryna figure this out. Maybe I don't need a reason and it's just cool to appreciate them?
Made this a while ago and thought it'd be worthwhile enough to share
